Childhood life has always been fun and exciting. It is in this part of our children’s lives where they live carefreely and not care about anything in the world. Children spend most of their time playing. Even in school, playing has always been a part of their time. Because of their nature to have a short attention span, children tend to be easily distracted when learning. Their usual splurge in energy makes them very active in most times. So how do we as parents control this over-enthusiasm of our kids?

Children learn a lot from playing games. Aside from learning the basic mechanics of the game, they learn to follow the instructions of each game. Taking into consideration video games, video games or computer games take time to finish, and its level of difficulty increases as the game progresses. Kids have to plan, search or even problem solve to finish each level. It may not look like the numbers in math or in science, children somewhat divulge themselves in the game and learn how to live in it, and in the process learn from it.

Now to get your child to enjoy learning is make it fun. Mixing games with school subjects are now common in every campus. Educational games are designed to simultaneously teach your children and entertain them as well.  A lot of educational games has now come up namely:

Around the world, this game plays the vocabulary, spelling skills, and general knowledge of children. “Puzzles and Classifying Objects” for toddlers teach them geometry and simple shapes.  “Painting”,  which can be modified as a game can also be used. Simple riddles for children can also open up their mind in critical thinking. To initiate a competition among kids, educational games can also be used.

The sense of competition pushes the child to learn more and be the best among the rest. The game “Monopoly”, which involves money teaches our kids about financial and investing lessons.  To reduce stress from kids, simple games can relieve them from it. Mathematics which is a real problem for some children and parents can be taught in simple ways with the use of educational games. Good players  also end up being good at school.

Educational games can bring up a lot for your children. It could teach them about world geography, world history, Mathematics and even English vocabulary. With the use of games, our child can also meet new friends and build more relationships which are very important at this stage. Teaching our child to be good sportsmen can also be manifested in games, since not all the time they win their game. Practicing them to teach, and lead can also be molded while they are at play. Most of all, educational games bring the kids and their family together.
