Creativity and resourcefulness are skills necessary to achieve our goals in life. Whatever venture or business your child will enter in the future, it is wise to teach him how to have these skills. Helping him develop solve problems whatever area it may be, is going to be helpful when he becomes an adult.

By training your child on these skills, your relationship with him also develops. Through the inspiration you are bringing, he understands what you want him to be. He learns to be cooperative in the activities you are giving him now which he will use in the future as well.

Recycling is just one way of being creative. From your old things, used bottles and other stuff at home which you may be are planning to throw already, teach him to separate things according to recyclable and non-recyclable materials. Find means on how you can make use of them in the most useful way. For example, the empty bottles, papers can be sent to the junk shop and will turn these into instant money. For some old clothes which are still usable, you may put them in the garage sale to convert them into money as well or you may want to donate them to charitable institutions. Either way will be beneficial depending on your preference. You would notice that by showing your child he earns money from these old stuff, he already makes business. When he grows up, he already knows how to earn money in different perspectives.

Another way of building resourcefulness is by upcycling. Show him to convert waste products into another new products. Examples, from old newspapers, he can make decorations like flower vase. Old bottles which are beautiful can be decorated outside to turn it into a piggy bank.

Make a habit of segregating things. Resume doing this every month or whenever you think you need to do it. You can send your child outside for more learnings. Visiting other areas where he can see inventions and projects will make him gain more ideas.

Enjoy your activities with your child!
